

Karate Chop!
Sketching yesterday - inspired by my Benjamin who is CONSTANTLY running around the house "POW"ing, "PKEW"ing, "PSHEW"ing and spewing other sounds I cannot phonetically spell, on top of karate kicking, cartwheeling, chopping, jumping...And yes, we just watched Karate Kid last week :)! So this is for you, by very active, sweet, sweet boy. So I'm playing around with looser line work, trying gouach, and inspired to use crayon (from the art session I helped lead at Camp St. Joan


When Pigs Fly
Well, they do in my world! I just got done creating a postcard with my latest work illustrating a nursery rhyme "The Flying Pig". The fully illustrated rhyme is below. I started to enjoy these characters a lot, wondering about their next stunt. The pig is so oblivious to his surroundings that his poor sidekick, The Magnificant Mondo, finds danger and chaos at every turn. Moving on with the show, the lion (who is tamer than tame and loves flowers) also has a dry sense of humor
