I find so much excitement in beginning new projects, and love the rush of magic when everything comes together at the end.

As an artist, writer and a graphic designer, I have been freelancing since 1995. I illustrate using mixed media -- combining traditional (acrylic, watercolor, ink) and digital.

I took my first real painting class as a senior in high school. I went to college to be an accountant. (Thank goodness THAT didn’t work out!) Second semester, freshman year, I switched my major and the rest is history. I graduated from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, but studied studio arts at Hamline University in St. Paul, and in Florence, Italy. I took additional illustration classes at the Altelier Lack and MCAD.
I taught 5-8 yr olds art at The Art Academy in St. Paul and The Coyle Art Studio in Excelsior before I became a mom in 2002.
These days I mostly create children's art and design picture books. You can find many of my paintings hanging in the halls at the Children’s Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota, in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
I am a member of SCBWI.
I loved growing up in a small SW Minnesota town. Today I live in Minneapolis, MN, with my family and dog, Luna.
